Ahaha!! ME!
My Jeep is always throwing a 420 code, which is always amusing to me.

My MR2 has no cat, so no 420 for me. It gave up smoking after a bad coughing fit at the track. You should have seen how much smoke came out!

I own four cars, with not a single catalytic converter between them. Of course the part where the only one less than a half century old is a diesel helps.

there’s a neat little trick to make your ecm think think it’s still there, runs a little rich though.

In high school I drove a 96 Explorer that would throw p0420 all the time. None of my friends believed me that that was an actual code till I showed them the scanner.

I was part of that club up until a few weeks ago. I don’t own anything with OBDII now.

I didn’t. But I did just get a P2227.

Hey, I have a long-standing P0420, it never occured to me to celebrate it this day. Happy bad-bank-2-cat-day!

YEEEEEEAH!
Err, no. After 125,000 miles, I think the Lancer’s O2 sensors are toast. I’ll order a pair of new ones shortly (just in case—they apparently seem to die in twos) and hope it cures the P0420
BLAZE IT!

Mine is there because the MAF died. I replaced it with one I found on eBay that technically works, but boosting doesn’t act linearly with it. Like, push gas, it,rises to 0 psi, push the gas more, then 1psi, push gas more, then wait.... then 10 psi. So I just unplugged it. 1 more mpg and normal boost building.
